“Few towns in Minnesota hug their waters so close.” – from an article by Adam Arvidson called Lake Country on Two Wheels published in the Minnesota Conservation Volunteer magazine
Minnesota Monthly (New London “buzzes with enough creative energy to power all of central Minnesota, if not the entire state”)
PBS’ Postcards (Story on the unveiling of the Riverspace Project’s fire sculpture in New London)
You may know us as the New London-Spicer Wildcats, or maybe you’ve heard of Green Lake in Spicer, the Little Crow Ski Team or Sibley State Park. We are all of those things and so much more. We are sister cities just four miles from one another. We are friendly neighbors as different as we are the same. Both New London & Spicer offer a variety of unique experiences, businesses, lakes and trails.
The Economic Development Agencies of both cities have come together to give you New London & Spicer: two towns I one destination. There is so much to offer in both cities, and creating a website is not a small undertaking. We small town folk believe in a group effort, so alas, here we are, giving you your one-stop-location for everything you need to know about this Northern Kandiyohi County lakes area.
We are community. We are ever-changing and growing. We are old school and new school. We are lake people and we are entrepreneurs, movers and shakers. We are start-ups and long-lasting business undertakers. We love hotdish and therefore we love potlucks. We love boats and we love trails and we love shopping both downtown New London and Spicer. And of course, we love frequenting our many restaurants around both towns.
Take a look around. Plan your trip. We welcome you.
